K&N or Amsoil air filters? Anyone hear of Lucas fuel injector cleaner?

I'm about to buy a new airfilter and have learned enough from this website to know I don't know nuttin. Does the Amsoil filter have anything over the K&N? I've found alot of used K&N filters for sale and wounderd why. I've heard about MAF sensors getting gummed up if the cleaning procedure isn't done correctly. I haven't found either filter in stock for my 95 T100 at near by retailers, is this a special order thang?
Has anyone heard of Lucas fuel additive? Thoughts?
Thanks for sharing.

is there a noticable difference with the K&N? I guess more air can't hurt, I just don't want to open a can of worms with the CEL and the MAF and all that ˟˟˟˟˟. Also, I haven't had any luck finding a part # for the AMsoil for a 95 T100 5VZFE.

I use the amsoil filter. It's been in for about 6000 miles and about 500 miles ago I went in to clean the throttle body only to find it totally clean. So, I guess it's working pretty well. I didn't look at the MAF sensor, but I'm guessing it's clean too.

The only place in Boulder you could probably get the Amsoil product from a retailer is Broadway Automotive on Arapahoe at ~54th Street. There is a local dealer here, but I can't remember his name. You could try a search in www.bigbook.com for Amsoil dealer; I think that's what I did when I got all my fluids/filters.

Good luck!

Not to spam, but I'm in Denver and am about to be an Amsoil dealer. So, if you need to order something feel free to contact me privately (I don't want to abuse this system too much with commercial posts and all).

BTW, here are the Amsoil part numbers for your 95 T100/5VZFE:

FILTERS
Oil Filter......SDF57
Oil Vapor Filter......N/R
>>> Air Filter......TS108
Fuel Filter......GF219
Fuel Vapor Filter......N/R
PCV Valve......HV162
Trans......TF150, 4WD
Trans......TF96, 2WD

Cheers!

I am a huge fan of K&N, i haven't had any problems, never heard Amsoil... not sure how big it is, no one i know has heard of it.

I have bought around 5 K&N's one for each of the cars i owned, and about to purchase 2 more. I go to the local auto store-- autozone, www.autozone.com. its special order, but only takes like 2 or 3 days and doesn't cost any more money, for just the air filter, your'e looking at $43, roughly.

I give it two thumbs up

I've got a bottle of Lucas Injector cleaner out in the garage right now and it'll be in the Runner shortly I am a regular user of BG's 44K but I got the Lucas stuff for free so I figure I'd try it.

I've used the Lucas injector cleaner stuff... no noticable improvement - if anything a loss in MPG - about 10 miles per tank.
