Best Brake Rotors?

Does anybody have an opinion on what the best brake rotors are? I have a shimmy when braking, and figured I'd get them turned, but the shop said their book says they're Non-Servicable. He offered me 2 choices - $50 apiece rotors or $95 apiece rotors, but had no idea what the difference was. Stock Toyota ones are $100 apiece, but are they any better than the $50 ones at discount places? Also, are slotted ones a good idea, or do they just eat pads up quickly? I just put new Toyota pads on.

BTW I have an 02 Tundra TRD Limited 4x4 Access Cab. I don't do much towing, but would like to someday. Mostly city driving right now.

Thanks!

if you buy new rotors its a good idea to replace the pads at the same time... as the warped rotors can wear a pattern into the new pads and cuase other problems if reused on the new rotors later...

look towards tirerack.com i got brembo blanks from them and have put about 500 miles on them and they are performing great....

Any good vented (either drilled, or cut, or both) rotors out there? Mine are slightly warped from towing a heavy trailer w/o brakes connected, and I'd like something capable of dissipating that kind of heat in the future.

I just replaced mine w/ LC Engineering drilled and slotted rotors for $45 plus EBC pads. Stopping powers has increased.

The best rotors: OEM. Original equipment buy them at a Toyota dealership.

Yes, stock is much better. You may see 2 to 4 times of longer life out of OEM replacement rotors when matched w/ OEM replacement pads. Seems funny but Toyota OEM is, for the most part, about the best investment you can make when doing preventive maintence.

For my 4th set of rotors in 9 years, and 3rd set in the last 18 months, I went to Brembo slotted. They're SOOO much better than anything else I've had on there... OEM, Napa...

I agree with Jim, replace the pads as well.

Brembos rotors way better than stock, and PF pads. Change the pads when you change the rotors.
