The plasti dip didn't tear when you torqued the lugnuts?

i did it with the rims on..just get a trash bag and cut it in half then put it in the wheel to cover your brakes and calibers..works great!

Not from what I have seen, done properly I have seen them last quite nice.
Got to prep them right though.

So you didn't remove the wheels when you did this? Plasti dip painted the lugs too is what I am getting from this..
Hmmm. Good luck with that.
Lug wrench still fit? It will tear when you have a flat....
Doing the rims off the truck would have worked better and lasted longer IMO
.

This is a general question but in general don't you guys who painted your rims run into issues when your wheels need to be balanced? I would imagine that the removal of the old weight (scratches and place where it wasn't painted) and the new weight being that gray color on a black rim must mess things up?

I have always asked for the sticky weights instead of the side mounted ones if your rims have room for them. So no scratching involved. They do look good but time will tell

No I kept them on..my friend did his the same way and hasn't had any problems with them for over a year now. And I'm worried about when they balance and rotate them but I think I am going to just powder coat them soon
