Never heard of a kit but my 99 had one and it was slick. Not sure if you could have a junk yard one re-keyed so your ignition key would work and not need another key for just the fuel door.

My 02 didn't come with one either. I went to my local Kragen's and bought a keyed gas cap. Haven't looked back since.

That would probably be a lot easier than changing the doors, painiting to match, running the cable for the lever under the dash.

I emailed a dealership
here is the reply
Thanks for the inquiry! The locking fuel door was discontinued as an
option with the introduction of model year 2001. Some people have
successfully integrated the early style (95-00) fuel door onto a later
model. I cannot verify that this will work perfectly, so if you bought
the parts you would be on your own since they are not for your
application.

From what I understand, you will need the following items:
Fuel filler door with keyhole (77305-04020) $17.86
Fuel Inlet box (61709-04020) $9.29
Lock Cylinder and key set (69058-35140) $33.80

The door will have to be painted and the key cut &cylinder re-keyed to
your ignition/door key.
