Installed some fog lights in my bumper
Well about 3 months ago i bought some hella ff50 fog lights so this past weekend i finally got around to installing them. Im going to tahoe this weekend figured it would be nice to actually be able to use them. It took a good 6 hours just because i wanted to do right and it took a good amount of thinking and measuring twice and taking my time. Anyway i thought it came out great, im going to go to my manufacturing lab on campus and grab some scrap steel and make a bracket to push them forward an inch then i will be able to get my license plate back on. I will get some nights shots up later tonight when it gets dark.
So heres what i did.
Under the front valance there is a splash shield which i promptly got rid of so i could get to the metal i wanted to mount to.
Once i had that off i lined everything up and drilled my holes
then it took some jerry rigging to get the lights at the right hieght in the middle of the valance. i got a couple 2.5in long bolts and a few extra nuts and its nice and sturdy.
Wired them up. I wired the relay to a switched 12v line so the lights automatically turn off when the key is not in the ACC or ON position so it is impossible to accidently leave them on and drain the battery. So i tapped into the cig lighter +12v and wired that to the relay trigger with a switch in between so i can turn them on and off as desired. Works like a charm.
Here are some more random pics.
Im going to make a bracket extension to bring them even with the vertex of the triangle from the plastic.

After
Hope this helps anyone. I was inspired by rdgt4r over on t4r.org
