Which brand Fuel Filter
#2
Well, at 115K miles it probably doesn't even need replaced. My 3VZ-E had a little over 200K miles before I finally replaced the original OEM fuel filter. Don't know whether it did me any good to change it or not. Didn't make any noticeable difference. However, that wasn't why I replaced it. At the time I was just looking to spend money replacing things that were relatively cheap, and might need replaced anyway. So, for ~$20 I went and picked up a NAPA Gold fuel filter. Not sure how much better or worse than OEM it might be. But it seems to have been working just fine for the last 30K mles or so.
As a matter of fact I'm about to go pick up another NAPA Gold fuel filter for my other rig(98 Monte Carlo). Since it's been about 60K since it's been changed...and it ain't got no huge-Toyota style-last forever-type fuel filter. It's got one that's like half the size(if that) of the one for a 3VZ-E or 5VZ-FE, even though it's for a 3.1L V6.
BTW, as far as I can tell, the 3VZ-E and 5VZ-FE(as well as the 1UZ-FE and 2JZ-G(T)E) use the exact same fuel filter element. The reason for the different OEM part numbers for each appears to be due to the fact that the frame mounting bracket(which isn't the same for pre/post-96 4Runners or Lexus vehicles) is included with the OEM fuel filter assembly. For example, the part # for a NAPA Gold fuel filter(canister/element only) for a 3VZ-E or 5VZ-FE(or 1UZ-FE or 2JZ-G(T)E) is FIL 3319(and that doesn't include the frame mounting bracket).

This website also says they're the same: http://www.nitomainc.com/npsp3.php?masterno=23300-65010
One more thing that should clarify my line of reasoning on the matter...
