2nd Gen 4Runner Tail light options?

Are there any tail light options for a 2nd Gen 4Runner?
I would like to get something other than stock in there...

I would flip for an led tail light set, but im sure that is purely custom.

Any shops you guys know in Southern California that would do some custom work like that on my 95 4runner? Id love to have some work done

What kind are you looking for? Check ebay, there may be some clearlens ones or something.

Theres only 2 options for aftermarket 2nd gen tails and neither one of them are easy to find:
1)Tail lights from a Hilux Surf which can sometimes be found on www.ebay.co.uk but even so you'll be lucky if the seller ships to the U.S.
Heres a pic of mine...

2)Another option was All Clear tail lights but they were discontinued years ago and are extremely rare/hard to find. *If interested, i have a brand new pair for sale.
Heres a pic of 'bike4miles' rig with all clears...

oh yeah, some people paint their factory ones...

i painted mine cause the others are too hard to find or to expensive! it cost me 5 dollars for the candy apple red paint and a day for the paint to dry.

If you really want them, check eBay in both the UK and US about once a week...search "hilux lights". They pop up every now and then but expect to pay anywhere from $90-$200+ shipped.

Rocket, hah, those are the same lights (Hilux Surf) I got a while back on ebay. They were described as JDM. I got them for $45 shipped. I got the entire assembly, including bulbs! Just seemed no none was too interested then.
Did you tie in your reverse lights on those? Do you recall which wire it was? I didn't tear into mine but I'm pretty sure it's the Red/Black wire.
95superlift, I got mine from jarcocorp on ebay. Check out his listings. He gets a good bit of JDM stuff on there. Cduff7 here on the forum is in Japan too. Maybe he could find you something.

Customizing your tail lights

A smoked lens might be appealing but they don't seem to offer much for 90-92 models. Your best option might be replacing the 1157 bulbs with fan style LED's and maybe add the smoked or black tail light covers.

i'd rather order some from UK or japan. you can get all clears w/ reverse light, all clears w/o reverse light, red/clear w/ reverse light or red/clear w/o reverse light. You can also find stock hilux lights if you so wish.

Thanks MaK. Yesterday I had some bad looking black hilux truck tails waiting at the front door and thought they would fit. The problem is that hilux tails are not wide enough for 92 and dont have the pegs but rather 4 screws on the case and do not cover the entire body housing.. Would have to glue them and add a gasket or inserts. I'll be re-listing them on ebay as there was no return policy. Totally thought they were 4runner compatible. Thanks for the insight on the UK and JAP ebay though. Check out this link for fan style LED's: . Picture them popping through a black lens cover.
