rear window relay "fix" 2nd gen 4runner
here is how i "fixed" my rear window relay.
this is only how to i got my rear door/window to operate after my relay box was damaged. no defrost or wiper but the window rolls up and down.. without a key even.
pretty sure any 12v relay would work but these were the radio shack ones suggested to work with the original board in another post. my board had bad traces on it so i used these in this write up
i needed to use my tail gate this was the fix

Sorry for adding to a old post. I have a idea that I need a few opinions on. I have one that’s not working with the key. I need access to it from the outside. I was thinking about cutting the power to the motor and hooking up a hidden outside switch with a different power behind the spare tire or something like that. That way the motor has a separate power without the relays. What do you guys think?

Start a new thread and we'll walk you through your problems.. You need to be clear on what year, what you've done and all that sort of stuff.

Find schematic, get a multi-meter, research, test all interlocks. Disconnect wiper assembly connector to absolutely eliminate wiper retract switch as culprit.
