Tire pressure warning light problem?

The low tire pressure warning light on my wife's 4th gen limited stays on continuously. Tire pressure checks out per factory on all 4. Does this light double as a service reminder? Any ideas?

Tires

Figured out the problem, spare was down to 25psi, filled it up to 32 psi, light goes off.

How does the tire pressure warning light work?

I don't understand how it can sense the pressure in the spare tire.

How does the car sense the pressure in the 4 actual tires as well?

Each rim has a pressure sensor mounted in the tire, which x-mits to the computer. People have had the same problem if they remove the spare from the vehicle IIRC.

Ive tried everything to get the darn light to turn back off. All 5 tires have been checked, and everything is within specs. Does anyone know if they are covered under warranty if I cant get the thing to turn off?

do these actually have pressure sensors? Every other tire pressure system i've seen monitors the individual wheel speed (from the ABS system) and activates the light with rotational speed differences.

if it has a remote pressure sensor in the tire, wouldn't it have a transmitter, and thus a battery? maybe a dead battery?

no, as funny as it is, it's my mom's WRX, that i upgrade/tool on. my ride is the 94 legacy, which is sold, pending myself getting a truck.

it's so funny to see your mom stomp a ricer on the street.

I see you have the side skirts with it, and looks like stock rims? I did love mine for a while, but started to have too many problems with all the "stomping" going on. I had a great Injen intake on it with strut bars and prodrive cat back. I'll try to post a pic of it. They are fun to tool around with. Do you have suspension on there? Cause if not, a cheap way to get great handling is to put on Strut and sway bars. Couldnt believe the results I got with them. If you didnt want to drop the car that is...
