If you have the orginal valve stems(the metal ones) then there is tire pressure sensory located inside of the rim. The spare tire also has a sensor inside of it as well. Set all the tire pressures around the same PSI then the tire pressure light should go out, but if it dosen't there might be a button underneath the drivers side dash with a picture of the (!) next to it. Press & hold this button if your truck has it until the light goes off THEN press & hold it again until the light on the dash blinks 3 times. Having it blink 3 times will reset the light to the current PSI that you have the tires set at. Again I don't remember if the 2006 Tacoma's has the reset light, if it doesn't then once the PSI is set the same in all five tires then it should go out on its own. But if you have aftermarket rims & no longer have the orginal metal valve stems then there isn't a way to get the light to stay off short of taking the dash apart & maybe there is a way to take the bulb out. Hope that helped.

Read your owner's manual. It says constant on is one (or more) tire low including spare. Blinking means system is damaged, prolly one of the sensors described above. Replacement cost ~$124/ea., tire dealer is responsible.

If you didn't have a tire pressure warning before the new tires, then either the pressure on one or more of the wheels is off (this includes the spare), or one or more of the sensors were damaged when the tires were changed. (this is assuming you are still using the original wheels) If you also changed wheels, and they didn't move the pressure sensors from the old wheels to the new ones, then that is your problem.

mine too
sorry if people don't like revivals, but i think of it as recycling.
i'm having this problem too. one of the replies on this thread said if the light continues to blink it's a malfunction in the system. but mine blink for 30 seconds or so and then goes solid. i'm gathering that means it's saying low pressure in one of the tires. well, i just got done resetting all the tire pressures to the same level and then tried to reset using the tpm reset button. i followed instruction as stated in the manual and the little bugger continues to blink for about half a minute and then goes solid. the wheels aren't stock, but due to the fact that it's blinking and then going solid leads me to believe that the tire pressure sensors were correctly transplanted. i hope. show me some love. what's wrong with this thing?

Do you have your owners manual? It will probably tell you what the flashing then solid means.
Also what psi are you using?
Whenever I would get a low psi light, for real low psi, it would go directly solid.. but thats when the truck was already running.

Working at a Ford/Toyota dealership lube bay I see this all the time when people come in with snow tires and a different set of rims, or aftermarket rims. In the lube bay our philosophy is that if the light flashes that the sensors aren't there or may have been damaged. We always check the tire pressures anyway and rotate them if necessary, but the flashing light means whoever did the tires last is at fault. We note it in our story and move on. If its on solid, adjusting the pressures gets it to turn off after cycling the key a few times.
