Tailgate window motor replacement options

What are the options for a replacement motors- ie: who's swapped in a Camry side window motor? They're different pn#s but I've heard they work. Different gearing maybe?

The power window part numbers are:
1990 4runner rear pn: 85610...........obviously works
1990 4Runner RHS pn: 85710 A, B....heard it works in the tailgate as well
1990 4Runner LHS pn: 85720 A, B....yotatech member BigT says he's used this in his tailgate
1990 Camry RHS pn: 85710 A, B......?
1990 Camry LHS pn: 85720 A, B......?
Corolla appears to be the same as Camry

2000 Camry RHS pn: 85710 F.........?
2000 Camry RHS pn: 85710 E.........?
I'll add more later...

Or search yourself:

Hey Matt, why not just get a 4runner motor?

Well there's a good chance that the back seat door window motors in a camry are used way less than the 4Runner tailgate window motor. Also, as there are 4 power window motors/ Camry vs 1 rear motor/ 4Runner so they go for cheaper if i recall.

There is method to my madness Jay...

Most 4Runners have 5 power window motors.

However, almost any Toyota window motor will work, provided its clocked correctly. I have been doing this swap for ages.

Ahh makes sence

Shoot Adrian an email though, ask how much he wants for a motor

acsintalan AT hotmail DOT com

He is who I get all my parts (If I buy locally) from. He has a massive shelf stocked full of parts, great prices too

I'm trying to figure out whether the window motors from a Camry should be coming off the drivers of passenger's side. The part numbers would suggest that the motor should come off the passenger's side (see above).

Anyone actually used a Camry window motor in a tailgate? Drivers side or passenger's side??

Its the driver's side. The 1989 Camry plug is different than the 4Runner- but its only two wires and shouldn't be hard to change the plug. Haven't installed it yet.
