So, I'm planning out my set-up for my future wiring project (lights, CB, stereo, winch) and ran across the idea of using the fuse box that's inside the cab behind the driver's side kick panel, here's my question: the diagram on the lid is set-up in a 3x3 grid displaying 9 slots, but the panel itself is 3x4 with 12 slots...does anyone have a better diagram for a 1896 pick-up? Thanks...

 

Umm, I'm not sure what you're asking but I mounted a fuse box there too. I got on of the 6 circuit ones from Advance and mounted it to that flat spot right behind the kick panel (plenty of room there) then just ran a wire from the battery to the fuse box. If you want them to just be on with the ignition run a relay.

 

I know that, I have one actually, I was just curious if anyone has a wiring digram for the factory one because as I stated, the label on the cover doesn't have them all marked...

 

if you haven't found one yet, search for 86-88 fuse diagram and there's a pic of one

 

I mounted my aux fuse block in the pass kick pannel with the ecu, seems to work good so far, bought an 8 fuse block and i have used all 8 already
and 8 was as big as i could fit with the ecu so i may have to relocate.

 

the kick panel box, as well as as the one under the hood, both have unused fuses. you could add hot leads and grounds to fill it out. or just add an external box like the others have done

depends on if you want them constant +12, acc +12, or ignition +12.

 

If you decide to go with an aftermarket aux. fusebox, the Blue Sea one is a good one.
It has both power and ground hookups on it.

Bluesea systems do make nice boxes. However I think at $40-$50 bucks, you can spend $15 more and get the Painless 70207 setup. They are nice because they come with everything you need. Fuses, wiring, relay etc. It all depends on what your needs are.
