87' 4runner interior lights not working. Any ideas?
I bought an 87' 4runner about 2 years ago and have never fixed the interior light problem but it's getting to that point to where I'd like to figure out what the problem is.
So the problem is, I have no lights when I open the doors on either driver or passenger side. The dome light doesn't come on when it's set to door and the doors are opened and it doesn't work when I just turn it on either. I also have the door lights (with the red and clear cover over the bulb) and those don't work either. I'm sure they are linked to whatever the problem is, once its fixed, will probably fix both at the same time.
Any ideas where to look that might fix the problem?
Thanks!

I don't know if this may help...
When I put an alarm in my truck it used to fired up by itself...
And when I was driving down hills my dome light used to sudenly flash...
The problem?
The door buzzards...( the little buttons that says if the door is opened)
I have to buy them at the stealership...problem solved.
Good luck..!

I cleaned out the door switches and that solved my door light problem and a defective bulb was the reason the dome light wasn't working. The bulb looked fine like it should work but did a continuity test and noticed it wasn't connected.

I'm going to somewhat threadjack here as I have a similar problem.
My dome light and rear view mirror lights do not work. The bulbs look fine. No fuses are blown - I checked EVERY single one! And, the in-door lights that ToyYoda says are not working for him....work for me!
Any ideas where to start looking for the fix?
Good fuses. Good bulbs.
It all worked before and I recently installed a passenger side power window motor and it stopped working after that job.
Thanks
