85 4runner Radio Install help

Hey guys on my 85 4runner I am upgrading the factory speakers and radio.

I installed some infinity 4" kappas upfront in the factory spaces they sound great and fit really well. I have 6x9"s that I am putting in boxes in the rear. Also replacing my factory radio because it is cutting out.

On the wiring harness from factory to Cd player I am having problems finding.

Will only a 85 Toyota harness work? or does a 87 work also?

Thanks Greg50

If a 87 harness would work that would be great. But I do not
know for a fact that it will work or not.

ok I went and got a wiring harness at a car stereo place.

The harness has two plugs in a kit. But on my 4runner there is only one plug
connected all the wires and no power to cd player. Looks like the other plug in
the kit has the 12v wire and rear speaker wires. So Im not getting power to
the head unit, does anyone have any ideas? pic below

If you got this kit.

Then it should work fine. The second plug is for the constant power to the head unit.

Your constant should be that black wire with the white line and a plug on it.
