Toyota Hilux Saves Ford-150 Ice with Tow

Hilux comes to the rescue of snowbound Ford F-150 SVT Raptor.

When it comes to trucks, Toyota doesn’t always get the recognition it deserves. Yes, it has powerful, hardcore trucks that can dominate the highway or tear it up off-road. But, it tends to be in the shadow of, well, you know. However, give a Yota a platform to excel, and it just might catch the eye of even the most die hard Ford fans.

On an upcoming episode of NBC Sports’ Drive show, hosts Chris Harris and Mike Spinelli are driving in snowy and icy terrain in their trusty Ford F-150 SVT Raptor when they get stuck. That’s not the surprising part, they are driving along in Iceland, after all. What is a bit of a surprise is who comes to their rescue: A Toyota Hilux.

The modified Hilux seems to have few problems handling the elements or the tow, and easily rescues the Raptor.

Now, we certainly know that Ford truck enthusiasts are a passionate crew, and this clip is likely to make them cringe. We have no issue with that. We’re just happy to see a Toyota truck get some much-deserved respect for being a badass.
