One-Millionth Tacoma Heads to Monterey for a Good Cause
Built October 4, 2019 in San Antonio, 1-millionth Tacoma heads to Mecum Monterey August 14, proceeds to benefit Seattle Children’s Hospital.
Do you know what’s cooler than owning a Toyota truck or SUV? Owning a milestone Toyota truck or SUV. Whether it’s the very first one, the very last one, or the 1-millionth one, you can’t beat a drivable milestone like that. Especially one with the famous Toyota reliability and durability.
One such milestone for Toyota is the 1-millionth Tacoma. A TRD Pro model, it was built in San Antonio on October 4, 2019. Now, it heads to Mecum Monterey in Monterey, California August 14 for a new home, all for a good cause.
For nearly two years, the Tacoma lived at Toyota of Bellingham in Bellingham, Washington, over 90 minutes north of Seattle. In that time, it’s only covered eight miles upon its 16-inch wheels. Obviously, living at a dealership has its benefits re: maintenance. Not to mention being the star attraction because of its milestone status.
Moving the Tacoma is its 3.5-liter V6, with 278 horses in the corral. All of them hit the road through a six-speed auto, with guidance from the 4WDemand four-wheel drive system. Though it’s only seen a mile or two on dealer’s lot, it’s possible the Tacoma will cover more territory with the new owner.
Even the black leather interior and Army Green exterior remain immaculate on the 1-millionth Tacoma. The whole affair includes all of the documentation, plus a letter of congratulations from Toyota. Whomever becomes the new owner will have quite the treasure in their garage.
Of course, the new owner won’t be the only one benefitting from the 1-millionth Tacoma built. Their winning bid will go to Seattle Children’s Hospital in Seattle. Ranked one of the best hospitals across the United States by U.S. News & World Report for 2021-2022, the children’s hospital works to “cure childhood disease and improve outcomes for children all over the world.”
It’s not often a milestone ride like this Tacoma turns up for sale or auction. However, the truck will surpass its status upon Mecum’s red carpet, all to give children in the Pacific Northwest and beyond the best chance at life.
