YotaTech forum member’s first trail vehicle needs a lift — but ‘not trying to jack it up on 40s or anything. Just make it fun and ride good on trails.’

During these crazy times, we can all use a little lift about now. And if that lift involves lifted Toyota trucks, then we’re even more interested, because here at YotaTech, we’ve been taking our minds off of things in the recent weeks by finishing up every home-garage project that had been on our list for a while now. So, when we spotted YotaTech forum member Jordan Rowland‘s call out to fellow Toyota truck and SUV owners, we thought we’d share the thread for others who may also be looking for some good project ideas and/or who’d like to rack up quick karma points by adding expert advice to the thread. As the post grows it will increasingly become an even more invaluable resource for any other fellow truck owners who may land on the thread when looking for sound suggestions before beginning a DIY lift project on a Toyota truck or sport utility vehicles like 4Runners and RAV4s.

Plus, that is one home project that we at YotaTech certainly welcome now as we try to temporarily shift our focus off current headlines and over to cool distractions where we can immerse ourselves in another world for a few hours. It won’t be long before we can get back to hitting the trails in our trucks and attending mudding events, but now might be a good time to help out fella truck owners by adding your advice and suggestions to a thread that was started for folks seeking advice on the best lift options for Toyota trucks. Forum member Jordan sent out the SOS to fellow Toyota truck owners asking one straightforward question: Best off-road lifts?

Toyota truck - lifted

“I recently got a 1989 1/2 sr5 4runner,” says Jordan. “What’s the best suspension lifts for one? Please don’t say rough country, I’m not a fan. This will be my first trail vehicle and I’m not trying to jack it up on 40s or anything. Just make it fun and ride good on trails. Trying to do enough to stay with 33×12.50s. So tell me what you think and some pros and cons to your suggested lifts. Thanks!”

That timeless Toyota truck topic got great responses offering some sound suggestions on how to make a Toyota 4Runner look even more badass and effective at handling off-road challenges.

This recent YotaTech forum post is especially timely and helpful if you’re planning to give your road warrior a workout once we are all able to hit our favorite trails and off-road destinations soon when we’ll need that extra clearance beneath the truck to make sure everything that needs to be protected from the underbrush is protected without having to sacrifice the level of aggressiveness that you plan to out your truck through when taking on challenging obstacles.
