Toyota Responds to Spread of Coronavirus in Japan

Japanese carmaker outlines current status of impact on Toyota events and facility operating hours as it relates to COVID-19.

On March 13, Toyota released a statement on the current state of the coronavirus and how it is affecting operations and events related to the Japanese car company.

“With the safety and security of customers, employees, and other stakeholders as our top priority,” says the company in the media statement, “Toyota has been implementing measures based on guidance received from government authorities in order to help prevent the spread of COVID-19 infections.

The following outlines the current status of the impact on Toyota-operated events and facility operating hours as it relates to the spread of COVID-19. The below information will be updated as deemed appropriate.

Events

Lexus’ Senses Electrified at Milan Design Week rescheduled to June

Lexus Design’s 2020 event “Senses Electrified” (pictured at top of post) will be rescheduled to run June 16-21, following the postponement of Milan Design Week 2020.

Toyota Motor Corp. Showroom (Nagoya). Updated March 12

The showroom is shortening its operation hours through March 26. Reduced operation hours are now 11 a.m.-7 p.m.

Toyota Rent a Car

Due to the closure or shortening of operating hours of commercial facilities where Toyota Rent a Car shops operate, the shops are closing or shortening their operation hours. For details, click here.
