Appalachian Toyota Round-up Off-Road Event is Back for 2019
Every year in Tennessee, Toyota enthusiasts gather for Labor Day weekend for good times, off-road adventure, and a great cause.
If you’re looking for a Toyota off-roading adventure this summer, the Appalachian Toyota Round-Up is a great time for a great cause. As per the Appalachian Toyota Round-Up (ATR)’s website, the event takes place to raise funds for foundations that promote park and trail conservation and sustainability as well as educate off-road folk about what it means to be both a responsible and happy camper. Heading into Labor Day weekend (August 29 to September 2) in Tennessee’s WindRock Park, the largest private OHV park; there is a long list of things to do, places to explore, and like-minded Toyota people to meet. Plus, the trucks! So many cool trucks.
“Attendees will enjoy three days and four nights of entertainment, great food and off-roading on over 72,000 acres of the most beautiful terrain imaginable,” the organization posts on their website. “The event hosts nightly gatherings, catered good, live entertainment, amazing door and raffle prizes, and the chance to build lasting friendships…This is truly an event you don’t want to miss.”
Every year, the event is sponsored by companies that share the same ideals. The event also happens to be a member of the Tread Lightly! movement, that aims to show off-roaders a better way to hit trails. To reinforce these ideals, ATR even offers onsite training and conversation from companies like OEX Overland Experts, and Offroad Trail Guide.
By being sponsored by environmentally conscious companies, ATR is able to proudly donate 100% of the registration revenue to a charity of their choosing. With such purity in full technicolor, naturally there are a few wholesome responses to such an event.
The attendees are a group of off-road enthusiasts that are clearly looking forward to this year’s event.
“Within about 1 minute I was greeted by friendly faces, and within about 5 minutes the event staff greeted me and remembered me from last year,” past participant Trey Dillion posted on ATR’s website. “If that doesn’t give you the grassroots tingles that our 4×4 community promotes, then I don’t know what will.”
That same year, a couple named Dan and Katie, got engaged. “We know that a couple that off-roads together, stays together,” Added Brett, the event coordinator.
“Whooo Hoooo!!!!!!!! My FAVORITE time of year! Just registered…” beamed Maureen Hogan on the event’s Facebook page. “If I start packing now, I might be ready!”
On the event’s Facebook page, there are several pictures of a plethora of Toyotas getting down and dirty at past events. And a full fleet of Yotas that will be attending this year’s event, as well. There also happens to be a trove of Toyota videos to watch, to give you a sense of the trails and beautiful surroundings.
