Lifted Tundra Fights Raging Floods, Wins the Day
What do salmon and Tundras have in common? The need to swim upstream to complete their mission, no matter how tough things get.
Floods are never a joke. The threat of raging waters sweeping you, your loved ones, and everyone else away into a repentless torrent of death and despair should be enough to keep you from attempting to fjord floods just to conquer them. Even the National Weather Service says not to try to punch through flooded roads, as “just 2 feet of rushing water can carry away SUVs and trucks.”
Unless, of course, you have a lifted Toyota Tundra. YouTuber PaFeyMous recently posted a video of the big ‘Yota swimming upstream through the raging, muddy waters of street flooding like a salmon ready to mate before its time is up.
The tale begins with the black Tundra moving slowly forward past the handful of cars already claimed by the raging flood. As you can see, the relentless fury is quite the challenge to overcome; not even a boat would manage the power put out by the roaring rapids sweeping over the streets.
For the driver of the lifted Tundra, though, the muddy river of death is just another obstacle among many his truck has conquered before. Slowly, steadily, he pilots his ‘Yota past the roadblock straight into the breach, surrounded by onlookers who appear to be as sturdy of heart as the driver against the fury of nature.
The roadblock now behind him, the driver faces the next challenge with aplomb in his Tundra: swimming upstream. Surely, they’ll be swept back into the roadblock, right? Oh no. The lifted ‘Yota will not be refused, powering through the tempest as if it were a gentle stream out in the forest lands.
Success is achieved! The black Tundra lumbers up and over the hill to continue through the flood waters to its destination, proving once again that nothing — from imploding buildings to torrential downpours — will stop a Toyota pickup from completing its tasks.
In short, this is one lucky driver whose bet on his black ‘Yota paid off handsomely. It’s not something we’d recommend, though; not all bets pay out, after all.
