Well turns out I fried the fuseable link. I wasn't able to find a new one, but ended up buying fuseable link wire and connectors and made my own. I sure am glad this site exists I've found the info very useful. The truck runs again, but the battery light and the brake light are still on. Still searching for the solution.

Hey all. I was trying to run a ground wire from my alternator to the engine to see if the battery light and brake light have not been grounded since the lights are on when the truck is running. Anyway, I ran a wire from top connection on the alt to the engine; when I put the battery connection on smoke came from the positive terminal on the battery. Battery still tests good, what did I fry? Any help appreciated

After checking out the Oil Pressure Sensor, I discovered the connection was bad. I pulled the connector off and the wire broke off at the connector. Put a female spade connector on, problem is solved.

I just added a new power port, since the cigarette lighter didn't work. Truck needs some body work so its going to be a work in progress

Hi, I am new here and have a electrical question. My 86 Toyota Pickup has no backup lights. I was looking underneath the truck and noticed a connector coming off the trans with nothing hooked to it on the passenger side. I also noticed there is a connection father up toward the engine on the pass side that is not connected. Any suggestions? Thanks, Ken
