93 3vze blower issue

I looked around briefly and didn't find anything that seemed similar to my issue, but I wanted to know if anyone has had a similar problem. The heater blower in my 93 pickup (3vze) seems to have a short somewhere. It works sporadically and when it doesn't work I can occasionally get it to kick on by slamming the passenger door or stomping on the passenger floorboard, crude I know. My Neighbors think I'm nuts. Anyway I don't think it's the resistor because when it DOES work I have use of all the fan speeds, so I'm leaning toward a bad connection at the relay or a faulty switch. I'm going to take it apart tonight and I'm curious if there's anything I should be looking for.

Just wondering if anyone has had something similar happen to them, and I'm very sorry if this is a stupid question.
