New FatMouse OffRoad Rear bumper !!!
NEW FATMOUSE OFFROAD REAR BUMPER
Hi Folks !!!
We feel very proud to announce, the birth of our new creature.
Our new FatMouse OffRoad rear bumper !!!
First of all, weīll let you know, that this was a huge project for us.
We ourselves couldnīt imagine how tuff this bumper would turn. Comparing the build-up with the front one (https://www.yotatech.com/forums/f88/...umpers-154727/), this one was way much difficult.
We had very clear the level of details we wanted to give to the bumper, but most important was reliability for us.
This bumper had to be, light, pretty (for us off course...), agressive, practical, super-tuff, and secure.
But our biggest target was, "This coustom rear tire-carrier had to be different".
We searched a lot during the last years, and we could find very little examples of integrated tire carriers to the bumper.
We wanted the arm IN , not OVER the bumper.
This design allowed us to build a smaller bumper, lighter and integrated.
This also allowed us to use a much more smaller axle, increasing many times the strengh and reliability.
Building the central part of the bumper was not too heavy, but side panels ...
In fact we fabbed and designed twice the side panels. They are made in 3mm thick steel.
Next time they will be in fiberglass (first time is allways hard...hahahahahaha).
High quality socket and axle provided from the moulding industry (Cescīs business).
TIG welds...
Auto-greasable axle and centers.
Supports for the hangers
This is how the bumper, attachs to the chassis.
Wheel support welded from the inside and the outside
Preparing bumper sides video.
Ready for weldings. The design and fabrication was done twice...;-(
Hi-Lift mounts.
Cesc admiring his creation. Too serious. Letīs have a beer !!!
So, .... this is the final result !!!
It works greate !!!
Super-smooth, no vibrations, ...
It is true, that rear view is now worst. But it takes a few miles to feel comfortable.
I really hope you like it as much as we do !!!
I like Cescīs Runner sooooo much !!!!
Detail of the custom-made lock-system.
Almost impossible to brake, and super-reliable !!!
;-)
Hi-Lift mounts.
Cool, arenīt they ????
HAhahahahahaha
This piece is absolutelly automatic. Using an internal coil sytem, when we open the arm of the tire carrier, it locks automatically to the bumper, to avoid to close when we parked inclined and want to keep tha arm open.
When you are finished, just unlock and close.
Number plates lightning system.
No wires crossing the axle hinge. It just works when the arm is closed and the contacts touch each other.
Textured plastic for the upper part of the bumper.
The desighn allows us to keep original or aftermarket fender flares.
We dismantelated the original spare tire carrier system, from below the truck, and obviously the original bumper, so the weight of the new bumper is not an issue.
And thatīs all from to buddies who created his own brand just for fun, hahahahahaha !!!!
We hope you liked it !!!
Itīs just impossible for us to express with words how much fun we had fabbing this bumper.
Once again Thanks Cesc !!!
Next project : drfakooīs 1st gen 4Runner SAS, .... Soon !
PS: And for celebrating the end of the project, we went to see AC/DC in Barcelona !!!
We salute you !!!

You guys should patent the design and sell it if you can't manufacture the bumper yourselves. I know a lot of people that would like to have one in the states.
I would love to see a design for a 3rd Gen.

Plus I think they said there were more legal issues with it.
But great looking bumper.
Dont take this personal. BUUUTT *I would have chopped up the fender flares and had the wrap around go all the way to the fender*
But regardless it looks great anyway..

There was talk about that when they did their front bumper, Good idea yes until you start getting into import and export of a 100lb + piece.

Not that teasing us state side with the front now you had to go and rub it in with the rear. least you could do is offer us a copy of the bumper designs for like $20 each so we can build them our self's , when you do I want a copy for both them are great looking set up's.

I think they want to open 4X4 fab shop. They sure do make good, sturdy bumpers. Thoughtful design. They should come to the USA and get a business going.
And get some 1st Gen runner stuff on the market.
Dr. and Cesc, you did it again. Nice bumpers.
Thanks for sharing.
