what is the correct cylinder numbering? I was told ( by dealer tech and from another thread) the number 6 is driver side all the way back, but that is not what my testing suggests. I pulled all my injectors and sent to be cleaned and tested after all the pre diaogs, I even ohmd them all before and they all tested good (about 14.4-14.2) so I figured the flow test would confirm the number 6 was clogged (had a p0300 and p0306) but the only injector that came back faulty was the 5 (passenger side back) and it was found to be "dripping"
according to somelses thread reference of cylinder numbering:
5 6
3 4
1 2
front
is this correct numbering?
if so could the code be wrong or if not then the misfire has yet to be found?

That is the correct cyl. order and the code is almost certainly not telling you it's the wrong cylinder (I've never heard of that happening). Your testing would lead me to believe it's not an injector, but a spark/wiring, valve, or hg issue.

Have same Code (304)
my check engine light came on almost 2 months ago, i have a 97 2.7 Runner and the already underpowered engine is even more sluggish and a full tank doesnt even last me a week these days. wires and plugs were replaced recently and i just checked the plugs to make sure they werent the cause. thinking its the fuel injector but not sure. any ideas? and how much would it usually cost to replace injector/s?

miss fire due to bad valve
Swap the coils around and reset the computer and see if the misfire comes up under a different cylinder. if so its your coil. if it still codes misfire on the same cylinder take it in for a compression test. I did all the other diognostics and eventually found a bad valve after the compression came back low. there are some home test tricks for this as well, I am not experienced with it but it involves a dollar bill and observing the "suction" stroke of the valve which indicates impoper seating and a worn valve.

I would ohm the injector and if good swap it with another cycliner to see it you still misfire with it. unless you can flow test it or dont mind blowing some $$. This will save you from having to order an injector untill you are sure you need it.
Also you should compression test beofore/after injector troubleshoot. bad compression is most likey due to valves needing attention and is good to know. both tacos I have had needed valve work over 200kmiles. if these are bad for long enough you can damage your head too. this was discovered with misfires after futing with injectors that were all good.
I reuse the plenum gaskets as long as no major blemishes. Mkae sure you use new orings on the old injectors when swapping them around! a tiny touch of oil or even gas will help slide them in.
