Did you get a double-chirp after holding the unlock button down for a few seconds? I don't know the exact amount of time that you need to hold it down.

its wierd i found this thread, today i was messing with my piezo chirper in my 96 rs3000 alarm. it does the same thing so i finally decided to try to fix it. its been pissing me off since forever. i took out my chirper at a time it was not functioning and tested to see if it will chirp when i connect it directly to the battery. it did not work, so that told me it was the chirper itself and not the rs3000 ecu. im planning on getting a siren to replace the chirper, but i decided to try and repair the chirper until i get one. what i did was i broke the thing apart and took out the little beeper thing. i took an old lights out toy and broke that for the beeper thing.i cut it to size, solder everything, put it back together and now shes beeping again. i think as it gets old the wierd beeper thing starts to crack causing a bad connection. b4 it only chirped early in the mornig when its cold. i only did this to day and so far it still beeps when i play with it... its not as loud as before tho, probably becuase i ghettofied my chirper.

Yes, I did. Lock is one beep - Unlock is two beeps -- and window down is a 3 second beep.
In my owners manual is says that window down is 3 beeps.

Thank you for these posts. I thought my piezo chirper was broken on my 3rd gen, but it turns out that for some reason the default for mine is piezo defeat on which means no piezo. So I did the steps and bam! I know when my alarm is armed/disarmed in the sun. Thanks guys

Oh, really really sorry, I forgot to mention that you have to have the driver's side door open. Hold down the unlock button for up to 10 seconds and you should get two sets of double-chirps. Once you hear the second set, you can lower and raise the volume of the chirps by pressing window down and lock buttons respectively (while still holding the unlock button). I completely forgot about the driver's door open, sorry.

What battery, the car battery or the remote battery?
The battery in my 4Runner is good, so I don't think its that...

Did you ever get the siren hooked up? How does that work?
Did you ever get the siren hooked up? How does that work?
when you connect the chirper to a power source it will beep untill the power is cut off. just like the siren. it will sound when u put power. the Alarm ECU will send surges of power to make it beep. yes i did try the siren thing, but since the surges put out by the RS3000 Ecu is longer than the aftermarket ECU the siren came with, the alarm sounds different, i kinda like it. my problem is the door ajar warning. the chirper will make a long beep if a door was open. when u use a siren it will sound like a car alarm that went off.

-------For reference------------

2000 4Runner, my keyless remote has Unluck, Lock, Window Down buttons.

How to adjust beep volume:
1) Open drivers door
2) Hold Unlock button until you hear another double chirp
3) Press Lock to increase voume, Window Down to decease volume
4) Release Unlock button to confirm volume

Back from the dead.

Anyone fix this problem? Did anyone order from the buzzersdirect.com website? Mine works half the time, as well, and it's annoying.

isnt this a violation to bring dead thread back up???

beep beep on the 99+, i believe. i know sport package have it.

go get that part and install inline w/ a relay. there should be a wire at the steering wheel collumn, green/red-horn(-), thats being tapped to.

wire it in this fashion:
85:wire from horn
86: 12v+ fused
30: 12v+ fused
87: to new beep beep

of course to ground the other leg of the new beep beep.

Nice Pic profuse007! That stunning, crisp picture has amazing detail. Whoever took that pic, must be a pro! Oh wait...it was me. (haha, just goofing around w/ you profuse007.)

Looks like you found the old write-up where I removed my Buzzer on my '02 Sport. I personally cannot stand the chrip, so I removed it and threw it away. (didn't think anybody would actually won't one.) Here's the whole thread if anyone needs it though.

Hope it helps: HOW TO DISABLE KEYLESS ENTRY
