No, not lift spacers im talking about the top plate spacer. http://www.toyteclifts.com/index.php...mart&Itemid=72

if you look at the actual pic for the 3" coil lift kit it shows these in the picture.

Duhh, im an idiot... Yea, they are already on the way. I'll search around town to see who charges less for assembling my fronts. I still have yet to buy shocks, ugh... lets skip that topic.

I think those are top plate lift spacers (it says they give 3/4"). If I'm not mistaken, those are the ones to use w/ the 881s to make them a full 3". The 883s will give you +- 3" w/ your stock top plates which you'll just reuse.

oh, ok thanks brian. Well, if the front falls short of the rear cus of the 883's compared to the 882's I might use them. I'll most likely wait though, cus im thinking the rears will settle after a while. After re-reading this post, I'm seeing it's a toss up with these coils. Tall vs short, handling more weight vs less weight. Guess we'll see in a couple weeks.

Yes, with the 882s and 883s you're supposed to only use your stock top plates - not the top plate spacers. If you used the spacer w/ the 882s or 883s, you'd have almost 4" of lift which is way too much for your CV angles and the overall geometry of the suspension.

The 881s only give like 1.5 - 2" so the t.p. spacers are used with those coils only. No matter what, you still have to use a top plate (whether it's stock or spaced) because thats what holds the upper part of the strut to the truck.

If you have Toytec assemble the front struts, it costs $100 for both and part of that $$ is for stock Toyota top plates if you're using 883s or 882s.

Damn this thread. I'm so close to "clicking the confirm purchase button" I think I'm gonna have to break my finger. I can't afford it right now, but all this talk is making me itchy for new suspension. I'm pretty sure I'm gonna go w/ the 883/890 combo w/ OME N91S and N86 shocks.

I like the Sonoran Steel lifts a lot, but after shipping they're about $1300+ for a 1.2 or a 7.2 kit. The OME system is almost 1/2 of that ($699 + shipping). I can't see the advantage of the (almost twice as expensive) SS kit. I know it comes with some special SS fabbed doodads and a new panhard bar, but is it really that much better than the OME? Anyone care to elaborate on why they chose SS over OME.

I know what you mean man. It took me a lot of patience to wait, especially with all the pressure around here.

hell the only difference brian are the other "doodads".

7.2 comes with front progressive TRD coils and rear OME890s

1.2 comes with front progressive TRD coils and the LC80s for the rear

Here's the thing, you're buying everything in one go instead of buying a lift and gradually adding other aftermarket stuff later, thus making it more expensive. There is nothing wrong with buying the more affordable lift kit with OMEs from toytech. I'm sure you can call SS and talk to them about just ordering coils front and rear along with maybe some bilsteins. Would probably be about the same price as the OME setup from ToyTech, maybe a little bit more. Have patience brother

I think I am going to save up my money and get the SS 1.2 kit. It looks like so much trial and error went into the building and design of the components.
Plus, its an all Toyota factory parts kits, save the shocks.

Woohoo, the coils came in earlier today.. man they are heavy! Haven't gotten shocks yet and I still am a little confused on the shock setup. Will the adjustable 5100 Bilsteins work on the front for 3rd gens? If so, Does anyone have these.. how do they ride?

hey guys, im a bit confused but i think i got it figured out, im in the process of buying the toytec OME coil + shock lift kit, I have a stock 96 and i already got an ARB Tacoma bumper(not installed yet) and I still havent gotten a winch, but most likely it'll be a Warn8000, so i was planning on getting the 882/890 combo w/ OME N91SC and N86 shocks set up, but i see there is a bit of a confusion with the 882 and 883, so what is the best option for me? im going to have extra weight in the front so i want a stiff set up. are the shocks also a good set up?

I love my OME comfort shocks, they were a good choice. Also, I got tons of lift and its fairly stiff, it's really hard to rock the vehicle at all now. With top plate spacers my 881's give roughly 882 height. With both a front bumper and winch, you might wanna go with 883's. I think most people with just front bumpers are fine running 882's

ok, so this week i swear has been the longest daggum week ever. Got my shocks ordered. Went ahead and ordered the front adjustable bilsteins for the front and the rear 5125 bilsteins. I was going to do OME but I wanted to try the bilsteins first and give them a shot. If all is planned I should have everything on and done by 3 weeks? Hopefully It sucks cus i've had the coils been sitting on my desk for the past couple weeks and they taunt me everytime i walk out the door!!!
