Factory E-Locker Upkeep

What do you need to do to properly maintain a factory E-locker?

My (new to me) 4Runner has one --- I know the previous owner NEVER used it, as she didn't even know what it was.

Should I engage it every once in a while?

What else?

Thanks!

Yeah - good call.

I tested the e-locker the other day - I know it was the first time in a long time that it was used, as the previous owner never used 4WD --- I had to get a little forward motion to get the e-locker to engage, but it seems to work great. Definitely a sigh of relief on my part.

That is perfectly normal. Same action on the disengage. a little turn to the left or right will help it in quicker.

The only way to keep your e-locker working properly is to go offroading and use the locker!

Do the grey wire mod so that you can engage without throwing it in 4H or 4L. You will be surprised who much you can get around with just the locker.
