Factory E-Locker Upkeep
What do you need to do to properly maintain a factory E-locker?
My (new to me) 4Runner has one --- I know the previous owner NEVER used it, as she didn't even know what it was. Should I engage it every once in a while? What else? Thanks!

well it is housed in the rear diff so synthetics in the front and rear pumpkins is not a bad idea...

I tested the e-locker the other day - I know it was the first time in a long time that it was used, as the previous owner never used 4WD --- I had to get a little forward motion to get the e-locker to engage, but it seems to work great. Definitely a sigh of relief on my part.

That is perfectly normal. Same action on the disengage. a little turn to the left or right will help it in quicker.

The only way to keep your e-locker working properly is to go offroading and use the locker!
JK Lock and unlock once in a while.

Do the grey wire mod so that you can engage without throwing it in 4H or 4L. You will be surprised who much you can get around with just the locker.
