I thought the same thing, but it really wouldn't be that hard. Before you take your old ones off, put a piece of masking tape right under the letters. This way you will get the on there straight. Also, mark on the tape to get the exact spacing of the letters. It should be pretty easy.

Painted Black Pearl Emblems
I was originally going to spring for OEM black pearl emblems but decided to give Bob's write-up a try. I found the Testor's paint at Wal-Mart for less than $3 a can. At first it was a bitch (practicing on something first is recommended). But now that they are done, I've been real happy with the results. It's been a month now (two months including "cure" time), probably washed my truck twice and they still look as good as new.

Beachrunner,
Looks great! Hey, would you mind if I added you to my webpage with the other folks who have done this mod?

Bob,
Sure, I don't mind you using my photo. Would you like the front emblem too? I didn't take a pic of it cause it was covered with bug guts at the time.

Darren,
Sure, that would be great. Send them to: bobkim@4runners.org
Any other good shots of the emblems would be cool too.

I didn't have any double sided foam tape to re-attach my emblems with so I applied some black silicone (had some left over after doing the deckplate mod a couple of years ago). I just had to lay some painter's masking tape over the emblem and truck body for a day or so until the silicone set up.

Todd:
Emblems look good! Thanks for the free TRD decals and applications. I've got half of them installed and will need a lot of patience to get the individual letters aligned straight. Toyota should have its emblems as one piece lettering. Pleasure doing business with you. Paul

Emblems
Actually the emblems do come all-in-one rather than singular by letter. However after haveing them blackened they came back seperate. I am sure he won't have too much of a hard time getting them on. Plus, I included some free TRD emblems and stickers to help ease the pain.

Thanks Todd, I saw a Titanium with Black Pearls this morning, looks sharp. Sorry for the long download, Montypics is SLOW. Any suggestion as to another pic hosting site?
