Well, the Transmission was 1200 to have built. Then tack on the $40 for the shift boot, and another $20 for the shift boot trim. Then another $20 in dremel bits for my custom shift knobs (photos coming)

I dunno, I think it's worth it.

Runner- Thanks!

Naw, can't be the rear main. The engine has 1000 miles on it, the rear main is brand new. There are no leaks anywhere.

However, this morning, the clutch feels fine. Maybe it was just hot... It is a Kevlar clutch.

Anyone up for a new video? Got bored on the way home from skiing, figured I'd show off the power... and a bit of a scenic tour of the Seward Highway.

Thanks Runner! It took a ton of dremeling to get it right, but I love it now. No other problems with the clutch since I bled it and re-adjusted it. She moves pretty well now. I caught myself doing 90 last night without even realizing it. I'm use to that happening in the STI, but not the 4runner.

13.7 MPG!!! Yep, it was worth it. Way more power, way better gas mileage, heck of a lot more fun to drive.

Hey swim I seen that you changed from thy 529 back to 4.88s? What was the reason for that and how do you like those gears with the 33x12.50s.

I'm guessing that the swap back to 4:88's was due to the swap from automatic to manual.

Good guess. Actually I did it before the swap. My buddy got 38's on his sas and needed the 5.29's. The 4.88's are perfect. See the video above to see how the handle through the gears.

And now there is a squeal coming from the engine bay... grabbed some WD40 to help isolate. When I spray behind where the Cam Tensioner pulley is, the noise goes away briefly. Looks like I'll be replacing that next. Words will be spoken with the engine builder. I have a feeling those words won't be very kind ones.

Hey Swim, who did you get the engine from and what's the name of your transmission shop?

I'm down in Juneau and we don't have anyone who works on transmissions.

Send me a PM if you don't want to say names in the thread.

Thanks!

Erich
