More proof that it actually kinda works! These were mostly shot Friday afternoon with exception of one clip that was shot last weekend.

Just cause I'm bored... LOL BUMP!!!
Been spending all my time sharing the love with a race truck I'm building though. Some hints of what it was are a few posts above. Here's the collection yesterday out front of my house waiting to have it hauled to the driveline shop for a custom driveshaft.

Selling? where's it hinted that I'm selling? Even for a overpriced amount I think I'd have a hard time letting it go cause I'm not done building either of them and I'm not done having fun in mine and haven't even had a chance to have fun in the new one yet! That starts in 2 weeks if all goes as hoped.

No worries... Most people don't believe me but I actually take pride in how cheaply I've gotten it done. I picked up the original truck shown in the first couple pictures at the VERY top for $2500. With that it included all my fiberglass, real beadlocked wheels, duffco kit (later sold for $600), National leaf springs (sold for $300), king shocks in the rear (sold for $300) so to wipe the slate clean lets say I basically paid $1300 for what I kept off the original truck all said and done.
Now virtually everything on the truck is self built so labor is well, whatever... Most of my parts were bought off classifieds, swap meets, etc... I paid retail for hardly anything and I highly doubt I could duplicate another truck as cheap as this one. It was seriously an endless luck of right place at right time and right people type things. Stuff like fuel cell for $100, seats for $100 each, carbon dash for $150 cause it had a scratch, traded some used stuff plus a little cash for the front suspension, rode dirt bikes with the owners of total chaos and got a great price for the steering, bought the owner of Deaver leaf springs some drinks at SEMA one year and scored the leafs for insanely cheap, picked up the 3.4L race motor for $1000. A lot of it was a matter of laying out a long term build list. I had a vision of exactly what I wanted and knew the parts I needed to get there. I also always had about $2000 cash on hand in my house so the instant I'd see a part I knew I'd need I'd jump on it if the deal was good enough. My coilover shocks collected dust for almost a year. My rear axle collected dust/rust for almost 2 years.
So, short version, where I'm at right now I'm sitting right about $13-14K over 7 years. Most people don't believe it cause that's insanely low for what I've built but it is what it is.
Anyone that sees this, if you're in the socal area and want offroad stuff, especially prerunner type stuff and looking for SMOKING deals on parts. Usually around super bowl weekend there's an offroad swap meet in the Morongo area that is a MUST Attend if you want smoking deals! You need to be in there before sunrise with a flashlight to get the deals though. If you're rolling in there at 7am you're too late.

BTW, if you like the race truck parked in front of mine, check in the '96-'04 tacoma build section for my thread. It's VERY detailed with A LOT of pictures cause it's literally been every spare moment of my time for the last 6 months.

I think this takes the cake for sickest toyota pickup I've seen to date. I'm hopefully going to start a build like this pretty soon, I just need to get my DD running so I can get a new pickup and start tearing it apart lol. Good luck with the race truck btw, it's looking very nice.

Well, a couple months after the mention of selling it and well, guess what... It's for sale!!! It's a bit different looking now though too. I'm asking $17.5K but am not firm at all on that number. I got it some new clothes too since I last posted... Freshly plasti dipped and now it's sitting on KMC beadlocks.

Screwing around with two camera angles. It's cool to see what the rear suspension is doing... (Edit, does that video work for you guys? It's not for me yet I know for a fact it exists and you can click on the link and go direct to youtube and watch it.)
