Thanks, that's why I asked.
Also, are you using the r150 tranny?
I am goin to swap my a/t for an m/t now, so I will have the m/t for the uz.
Thanks

Ok, I remember now. Its from ford F150 89 4.9 6cyl. Thats what I asked to the autoparts store.
here's a link after my 20 mins google search
http://www.partsgeek.com/mmparts/eng...ford/f150.html
That should help

As I can see, you did get the bearing kit. I never did get these and they they never did care.

yeah my buddy over at carquest found them for me after i let him know it was a 89 4.9. cant get solid rubber ones anymore so i had to get hydraulic ones only 29 a pop. so 4.0 from your pictures it looks like you cantilevered some perches off the frame to sit the mounts on is that right. its a little hard to see in your pictures.

I know its hard to see. These pieces of metal were in my dad's stack. Thats what we had in mind so used those. Some 1/4 in 3x3 angle will do the trick. Maybe with some gusset in the corners will enforce them. That was my plan lol. I removed all from the 3.0 and welded these on the frame.

We drilled 3 holes in each for some tryouts but ended using the holes i had in mind.

Are we suppose to guess what holes you are/were thinking of?
Hmmmmm, I'm thinking if a number...
Seriously, could you give a measurement from a point on the frame to a point on the 1uz to give an idea of clearance and block placement you chose?

Thanks

Yeah it looks pretty tight on 4.0's I think RMA's isn't as close it helps if you run a body lift I know. I have a 2" on the way. But I'm gonna stuff it as far back as I can because I want A/C so I don't want to have to run pusher fans

Shag, i have a my 2" BL ready to install in preperation for the new heart. I figured it would make the exhaust manifold clearance easier. And i want my A/C also!

yea the higher you go the more your able to get the engine back ..

i can tell you on the first gen you HAVE to use a body lift , at least one inch ,the engine will not fit with out a body lift or modifying the pan .

The valve cover hits the brake booster real bad ..

check out post #31 in my thread for some different mount ideas .
https://www.yotatech.com/forums/f161...24/index2.html

post #41 has the measurment from the engine to the original 3.0 mount location , i ended up with .

Im curious as to how much movement those ford mounts that 4.0 pickup is using allows to the 1uz . By looking at them on the post he provided , they seem like they would allow quit a bit.

i know the ones i am using allow for to much movement to the engine (front to back)and will be trying some solid mounts with this most recent swap .
im using half of the original 3.0 mounts (bottom half).

ill update my thread to let others know , look for better.
They work for the most part and are easy to make , havent had any problems with the engine hitting anything front or back , but i want them to be more soild , or just allow less movement.

The holes i had in mind was the the ones most at front.
From my pictures, its about 1-1/2" c/c from that bolt on the upper control arm. Same on both side

And if i put a straight edge from side to side just beside the bolts im talking about, I would say that the motor mounts are about 1/8 higher. Thats including my super shims lol.
I had to tweak the exhaust flange to. Look how close they are.
Driver

Pass

Cut, weld, grind.

If i had to do it again, i will have the engine move about 1/2 more in the front. That way, i will have more clearance between engine/firewall. I don't think its possible to swap the 1uz into pickup/4runner without cuting some part of the rad support. If I had to do it again lol, I would remove completly the lower part where the hood latch brace bolts, re-enforce it with a flat bar and mount the rad at 1''to 1/2'' away from the hood latch brace. Im about 2'' now.
Doing it so, will leave space to move engine a bit foward and plenty of space for a puller fan.
Im about 1/2" away from the crank pulley. And this flexalite fan is thicker than my first one from ebay.(gave up on me)

Sorry, im using lower quality pictures. My photobucket acount is getting loaded lol.
Btw, these headers are from a sc400 92 and I have a 3" body lift. Also, you don't have to folow my foot steps to. Some of my friends will tell you the same lol.
Peace
Dave

Won't be following in you foot steps so much as you would think Dave I'm taking info from everyone an changing it a little bit I'm gonna use it Ford mounts but set up a little different. O an RMA ur tranny mount isn't bad is it that will let the motor move back an forth.

Just some food for thought on the tranny mount guys. I just pick up a relocation bracket from Downey Off road ( aka Tojoman) on ebay. This allows one to use the OE cross member but moves the mounting either back or forwards upto 4".

I bought it as it was one of the puzzle peices I thought I might use as soon as I start my build.

He has 9 left now. He wants $35 for the part and like $15 for shipping. I got mine about 1 week ago. It looks very nice and is 3/8" laser cut zink plated steel.
