IMO one of the best looking rims out there. Nice choice!

Will you got yours at Les Schwab right?
What I may do is get these wheels in the future along with another set of Cooper STT tires, maybe in the 33" size. In the past I have always ran two sets of tires. One from late October to March, then the good set from March until late October. If I do that, the factory alloys and 32s will be the beater set (as in not cleaning much during the winter) and the 33s and Mojave wheels will be the spring to fall set (set that gets wheeled more and washed a lot) that will be the nicer ones. Did you have to go with a certain back spacing, or are they just 17x8? Hey, that guy has the same tires you do too I think.

Heeeeee haaaaaaw
I had touched in other threads here that my local Les Schwab has a hard time getting in the Cooper STT tires. They quoted me a few weeks back a higher price than my local Big O tires who gets the Coopers locally in a warehouse about 8 miles from me. Les Schwab would have had to import them in from Spokane. I just let Les know that they were going to loose my business to Big O tires since they can not get them in her locally. Les did not know that the Cooper warehouse moved closer to us, but he does now ![]() He will be calling me back on Monday. I may have these Coopers next week. Just going with 4 for now (stock size, 32", 265x70x17), and leaving the stock Bridgestone on the rear door. Then come March or so I will get 5 new Coopers in the 33" (285x70x17) size along with 5 of those Mojave wheels to run during the better months.

I have heard some complain they are to noisy, but I also hear they are actualy quieter than the Les Schwab Wild Country TXRs I ran.
I do not mind loud tires at all. The louder the better in my book, reminds me I am driving a 4x4 and not a car. They are a very nice looking tire, and all the reviews I have read have been very positive. The Aussie site seems to have a little more info on them though than Coopers US site. http://www.coopertires.com.au/tyres/stt_new.htm There are even reviews fresh from the bush on the site

They got a lot louder after 5K miles for sure, but they are not nearly as bad as a directional tire or swamper type tire.
You have to pay to play as they say. With the FJ having a more quiet interior, you having a lous system (and beeing old, JK) you won't mind it at all. Like you said, its a 4X4, not a Jeep Compass! I drive with my windows down and radio up all the time, the tread noise is just a little extra. Lamm

Those wheels are so nice looking, good choice. I have done a little research on the Cooper tires myself - too bad I won't be needing new ones for a while.

![]() Shannon, you can trade yours in if they have lots of tread left.

I did get my wheels from Schwab, no particular backspacing either, just whatever they had if I remember correctly.

Great...
Now I gotta add up the damage 5 of these tires plus the Mojaves are gonna take out of my wallet next spring. Question, can you cook on the teflon wheels
