Home made hot shot starter kit?
Sorry, this topic has been beaten to death...
The kit is just a relay and some wires? I see people have made their
own, but I'm wiring handicapped. Is there a sticky with a good diagram?
I've tried the "no start..." one without success. Took apart the stock relay
and I still don't get it. TIA

I have the starter booster kits in stock. The kit comes with a relay, harness connector and instructions. Very easy to install! I'm running one on my 83 Yota. Send me a personal message and I see if I can help you out.

Basicly these booster relays makes sure your starter get a full 12 volts to the solinoid while cranking. Many times in the older vehicles resistence build wire in the wiring and the ignition swich can send a reduced voltage signal to the starter solinoid. These booster kit eliminate the voltage drop. Very easy to install and look very clean when installed properly. We have been selling them for years at my old repair shop.

Hate threads with no ends so..
I put the stock starter back in (it was fine, but had a new Bosch to put in when the new long block went in).
Truck fired right up, and turns over much faster.
I don't even see the point in returning the Bosch with warantee since it won't be good either.

i just got a painless wiring hot shot relay and im confused? i mounted it to the inside passenger fender.... http://tweetphoto.com/35444153 but the connecter to the silinoid dont match, do i cut the smaller wire and use the same connector? http://tweetphoto.com/35444255. . someone post pics with it already installed please
