Sarcastic answere:

First you need to know where the transmission is located. Typically the transmission is located between the engine and the rear drivline or transfer case. Once you find that you can trace the dipstick tube from the trans to the engine bay.

And thats more of a "Auto Tech" question. Those guys know there stuff. Like where, and how much oil to put in the transmission.

None sarcastic answere:

Is it an auto or manual trans? Cause the manual transmission's dont have dipsticks.

There should be a plug on the side of the trans (I forget which side but I just read it in the Hayne's the other day) It says to unscrew the plug, and if fluid comes out, there is a sufficient amount of fluid. If no fluid comes out, stick your finger in the hole and the fluid should be even with the bottom of the hole.

Any parts store should sell fluid pumps that fit perfectly into a bottle of gear oil. FYI: the plug takes a 24 mm wrench
