Shock Absorber Kidney Failure
I have a 1990 2dr 4Runner/V6/5 sp trans. I just installed upgrade torsion bars and 1-1/2" lift HD rear springs from Downey Toyota. I also installed KYB Mono Max shock absorbers and 33 x 15 x 10.5 All Terrain KO. The 4runner now rides like a one ton. I like a stiff vehicle, but this bounces and you're air born even going over speed bumps at a slow speed.
Downey recommends the Doetsch shocks and I went with the KYB's because I wanted a mono shock. Do you think the Doetsch would be the better way to go? Are Doetsch that much softer? Since I now have a 1-1/2" lift, the number of available shock absorbers are limited and I really don't want to use a shock mount extension.
Does anyone have experience with both of these shocks?
Thanks for your help.
