Quick question on brake line nuts.

Quick question on brake line nuts.
just to clarify, my brake lines and clutch lines all have Flare Nuts on them...Correct?
and to PROPERLY remove them without fubarring the nut itself, i need a Flare Nut Wrench....correct?
particularly 10mm flare nut wrench, right?

Also, removing seized on nuts is a PAIN, so use grease or anti-seize on them.
That way, you won't break an El' Cheap-o like I did, and in an emergency situation you can remove them with just an open ended or adjustable wrench, and (hopefully) not round off the bolt doing it...

The only one line for a right side caliper I could get off without rounding it, was a left side...
I 1st bought a Harbor Freight set, lost my 10. Then bought a 10 at AZ... Brought it home, ripped the caliper off and broke that 10 off...
Bought some anti seize when I took that wrench back...
Ohhh, fun times... I tell ya...
My advice, get a set or a well made ($$$) one... It will pay off as the tolerances should be higher: I.e should fit tighter (less apt to round off a nut) and be stronger.

one of the reasons for making this thread...was because my father doesn't believe a 10mm flare nut wrench is different than a regular 10mm....:/

yea i figured flare nut wrench isn't what it's called...but that's what i hear them called all the time.
he's my real father...not in law or step father
he's knowledgeable on alllll kinds of tools..but has always used regular 10mm wrenches on brake lines and clutch lines...and has almost ALWAYS rounded them off...that's why i enlightened him about the Flare Nut Wrenches

Craftsmen set cost me $30 for 5 wrenches goes from like 9-18 mm, best money spent, now if you know your going to replace the brake line, like the 8" solid on the front brakes and the PO buggered it all up before you, use a screwdriver or cutters and cut the line and use a socket, so you save the flex line from damage.
