think these rears would work for the weldless method?
i cant say for sure. but they do say its a factory replacement. as long as they are 96-98 springs. it should work. might be able to save some money if you look for a set of used springs from guys that did lift kits on their 4runners

looks good.

now i am confused and intrigued by the no-cut method but confused in as much as now i don't know what springs i should be looking for. not really wanting to cut anything, this looks waaaaaaay easy.

dangit..now i gotta search more.......unless, of course, someone want to post up exactly what i will need for my son's 88 4runner to do the no-cut. (pretty please)

not going to run to the junkyard to get anything, so i am mostly only interested in what size springs to buy......i like the spring compressor trick.....cuz, i'd like to keep all my teeth

I know where there are plenty of used Heep springs. I am willing to grab some for people if they want to go this route. Just need to let me know which ones you need so I grab the right ones.

im thinking of disconnecting the rear LPSV that is bolted to the rear axle housing. take the rod and move it all the way up to the body and zip tie it. this will allow the LPSV to think i have the rear loaded and give me my rear brakes back.
The LSPV still won't work right even if you modify it like this, you're better off getting a manual bias valve and getting rid of the LSPV entirely if you have lift.

LPSV extension bracket works pretty well for any size lift. Just got done with making my 2" one. See my build thread for more.

Don' t zip tied the LPSV. You can make a bracket to raise the mount location on the end of the arm, get a new LPSV that has manual adjustment or do what I did which is to cut it and get a turnbuckles so you can adjust the level.

http://www.lowes.com/pd_22225-1277-M...%3Dturnbuckles

I remove one of the loop bolt. I use a bolt and a nut to fasten it on the cross member. feed the arm through the loop. I'll see if I can get a pic up.

thanks. i just made a bracket for now. it still jerks as before. i need to get correct shocks asap. i have a feeling that the shocks are maxed out and causing the rear axle to flex forward and backwards instead of it being transferred into the dampers

Cheapest?....um..I think you can extend it by adding another brake line to it.....junkyard front brake line. Having said that, I don't recommend you go "cheap" on the brakes.
You can get longer brake line pretty reasonable price at Autozone.

Here's the spec for stock line..87 4runner.

Brake Hose Assembly Length (In): 17
End 1 Fitting Material: Treated Steel
End 1 Type/Size of Fitting: Male - M10 x 1.0
End 2 Fitting Material: Treated Steel
End 2 Type/Size of Fitting: Female - M10 x 1.0

Here's a 2005 tundra V8 rear brake line

Brake Hose Assembly Length (In): 20.5
End 1 Fitting Material: Treated Steel
End 1 Type/Size of Fitting: Female - M10 x 1.0
End 2 Fitting Material: Treated Steel
End 2 Type/Size of Fitting: Female - M10 x 1.0

Looks the same except it's 3.5" longer.....for about $26 +tx.

Close, but not quite the same. You could use this hose with a male/male adapter, though.

Thanks for letting us know. What is the length on this one?
Btw, the 2nd gen. 4runner rear brake line is shorter...like 14" instead of 17" on the 1st gen.

Is there a 4x4 lift shop near you? They might have some stock front TJ coils that they will give you free or a small charge. They always end up in the dumpster behind the shops
