Auto parts stores sell the purple or red battery terminal protective spray. It's great stuff.

I sprayed my moms battery terminals down with the Permatex battery spray. From what I witnessed I can't recommend that brand of spray.

I use the chemical impregnated nylon washers I get at East Penn Battery.

They work great are not messy and I use them on all my batteries .

Then things must be very clean to start!!!!

Install new ones when ever the battery terminals come off.

A can of 100 or so is only a few dollars.

Maybe that's why they're a bit hard to find these days. I remember people just kept reusing the same ones and complaining that they didn't work.

Permatex 100% silicone dielectric grease on terminals/posts when my connectors got replaced. It had been over a year and they still look new. No sign of corrosion. It definitely helps IF battery has no leaks.
