Stock travel is right above 6 inches I believe. I'll take some pictures and check my invoice this weekend.

Good luck taking the front diff out.
I'm not sure if even taking the front cross-brace out will get the job done.

Most secondary front cross braces are bolt on for that very reason, I see yours is welded...

Yea I thought about that before the cross brace went it. If I cant get the diff out, I'll just cut it and have it welded again. It's not like the diff comes out everyday... I'm not a fan of bolt on parts when it has to do with strength and rigidity of the frame. They shift and can lead to breakage. I feel the same way about bolt on sliders... However, the shock hoops brace will definitely be bolted in since it cuts through the engine bay...

Very cool. I'm anxious to hear about the ride quality when paired with something like, say, Bilsteins. I'm due for a front suspension refresh and rear, too, but will probably go with a custom leaf pack out back.

I've given up on the idea of a solid front axle simply because with the type of wheeling I do (when I can even get time for it) a SFA is overkill. My suspension is not limiting me. Ideally, I'd like to cut down the '85 axle I have sitting around into an IFS sided diff so I can have 8" front and rear diffs.

I was looking at the Blazeland setup, but it's just too wide to be practical for me. The trails I run are very narrow, and on 31x10.5 Cooper Discoverer STs I sometimes rub trees on both sides and have to fold the mirrors in. I'd never make it with the BL setup.

I'm interested to hear bottom line pricing (not including shipping) on this setup, as I'm thoroughly intrigued.

I've heard Bilsteins are great, but a pain in the butt to re-valve.

I tried emailing Austin when I saw this thread.. haven't heard anything back yet .. The idea behind the uniball conversion is pretty similar to the total chaos uniball conversion for their arms - it's kinda funny I've never seen this kinda thing done on stock arms before, seems like a really straight forward idea that helps a ton..

I haven't given it much thought yet, really, but I'll be swapping in a 9.2:1 compression ratio 7MGTE and pushing around 320-350rwhp out of my 4x4 sometime in the not so distant future. I have a feeling the 7.5" front diff may give me issues, so I've been thinking of how much fabrication it would take to cut down a solid front axle into an IFS style front diff setup. I've already got the axle out of an '85 sitting around. I'll never do a SAS, so I might as well figure out some way to use it!

I took the truck out to Hemet, Ca yesterday and got some awesome suspension footage!
Then disaster struck when I tried to mount the cam in the cab... There's a function to flip the video feed on the camera if its mounted upside down. While trying to figure that out, I decided to see what the ALL function did. What a moron move... It formatted the card and I lost everything... Oh well... I'll be going out again soon anyway. I did manage to get some in-car footage.. Maybe I'll post it. Until then, here are some better pics of the completed setup and the idler arm.

haha, sorry... I was really hoping to share it before I left town. A new video wont be possible until January. I'll post up that in car shot to at least give you something. Have you tried calling Austin? I'm sure he'll call you back if you left a message. The truck will be getting fitted with the shock hoops brace while I'm gone. I'll talk to him when I drop it off today.

pretty sure total chaos sells a weld on one and claims that the diff can be removed with it on

I actually have seen that, but totally forgot about it. I'm also a MKIII Supra owner, and have probably three or four differentials hanging around. I even have a 4:10 T2 Torsen. (I'm still running stock 4:10s).

I'll read through that again. Thanks for reminding me about it! My computer crashed a while back and I lost all my bookmarks!
