Replacing TPS didn't work, now what?
My truck had been idling around 2000 for the first 8 or 10 minutes it was running (only after the motor cooled down). I bought a used TPS from someone here that tested fine. Put it in last night, and it didn't fix the problem. Anyone have any ideas on what else to check? I'm lost. I know nothing about this kind of problem.

If you truck is idling at 2000rpm it's only one of three things:
1) The throttle plate is not fully closing.
2) The ISC valve is faulty
3) (Very, very rare) But if you've played with your AFM idle-bypass... Un-play with it. If not, forget this & don't play with it.

well if its only doing it when cold its supposed to in order to warm up the engine quicker.
there is an idle up valve (ISC i THINK) that is responsable for doing this. (gets a signal from the puter that looks at the temp sensor)

Definitely adjust it. It will never run right without being adjusted.
I would also clean the throttle body if you haven't yet. I'd also spray some TB cleaner into the valve cover breather hose while it's running. Maybe it will go through the TB and open up anything that is stuck. Maybe even try some SeaFoam. Lots of people like it.
Check for vacuum leaks. I found some on the two hoses that go to the PS pump. They are very hard to see.
Check your throttle cable. I had a high idle issue when hot that was related to the throttle cable being too tight.
Checking the coolant temp sensor can't hurt either but I'd do that once everything else seems to work fine.
Good Luck

Here is a good writeup on adjustment. You will need a multi meter.

I checked this out, and I can't believe I didn't have a heart attack. This is the funniest web site I've ever seen! One of my friends is obsessed with Chuck Norris, and he says some pretty funny things about him, and I'm definetly telling him about this site.
Sorry about posting this in here, but I feel it needed to be said.
