EGR is internal to the head.

You mean PAIR, which injects air into the exhaust next to the head / exhaust manifold, correct?

No i mean the air pipe that comes from exhaust to the other side of engine. I do not have that but was told i could keep original manifold and just get a o2 bong welded in just before the cat

Been studding on replaceing the factory amf with a GM maf sensor or just geeting that mega squirt system and doing away with the afm period. Has anyone done 1 or the other and can tell me how it ran after

You can't just bolt in a GM MAF without a signal translator. I put a GM MAF in mine with a prototype translator I built and the difference was immediately noticable. The 22RE ran a lot better. The best part was that it didn't run out of breath when pushing the RPMs above 4K.

So how can i find out more about the GM MAF and translator or any other mods that will help my 22re not be so sluggish

Reading more about this Mega Squirt system for the 22re. So if i choose this and do away with the afm period. Which mega box do i want. Has anyone tried this system and how did it run. Because as far as wiring is ill have no problem.
