the only reason i'd put IRS on a truck is if it was a street-only rig set up for racing, or an extreme dune jumper. other than that, there isn't really any point.

Petersen's 4Wheel & Off-Road joked about putting a Jaguar rear-end in a 4x4 for a dune-runner, it has a full-size Dana-44 center section, in-board brakes, that might be what's in this pic, I do see the inboard brakes anyhoo...

i don't like the idea of inboard brakes. on a standard setupl, the only thing that can cause the brakes to not work is either a brake failure(duh) or the hub coming out. on that, if you pop a u-joint or the shaft fails, you have no brakes at all.

True.... they are also more open to mud and gunk, but I would presume they have some benefit since expensive rigs like Jag run them. I know that on the hummer they provide better breaking due to the additonal gear reduction at the hub, so the brake has more effectiveness at lower speeds.
