22re head

i blew the head gasket on my 22re.
i ordered all the parts to repair it from engnbldr.
i receieved the parts yesterday
im not sure if the head warped,
but i know that the last spark plug is stuck in it.

any reccomendations for how i redo my head?

Take it to a machine shop. You will have to have it surfaced anyways, and they can check for warpage and cracks.

i was goin to have them heli-coil the last spark threads

If its just stuck, they may be able to heat it out.

If its jammed or crossthreaded, they will have to force it out, then tap the hole larger than it is to accept a helicoil.

It doesn't take much heat to expand the threads on a spark plug.

Buddy of mine had to replace the head on his a few months ago.. He found a place in Texas that does nothing but heads,, 350 bucks for a re manufactured.. they pay the shipping both ways.... It was a way better deal than any of the local parts stores had.. the head was as clean as a new one and runs perfect

well i took my truck apart yesterday
i took the head in today
it was finished today
not sure when it is all going back together
still have to change the timing gears, chain
water pump
oil pump
and the timing chain cover

truck has been stripped and top end rebuilt on 7/6/08!!!
its back on the road again!!!
needs a new clutch now
