Some of them can be....yes, but it depends on who's making them. There's a lof of crap out there.

That being said, I've got a buddy who's used nothing but O'Reilly clutches in his xtra cab and never had any complaints. I guess it depends a lot on how you drive it. Some people are just hard on clutches.

Do yourself a favor.Do not put a cheap clutch in.To much work ro replace it.Put in a new balanced flywheel, and a new pressure plate. Advanced auto has a high end clutch that is made by Zoom racing products. If your offroad your clutch take alot of abuse, and the last thing you want is clutch failure off road.

I'm going with Marlin for my next clutch because it is a very good price and from Marlin you know it's good parts. I have had great luck with LUK clutches in the past.

Ah ha! A neighbor!! Loving that humidity down there?!

I take it you've used O'Reilly clutches before?

Well, I wudn't sure.....O'Reilly seems to be everywhere. But, mostly I was just using them as an example. It's an inexpensive option....not the "best of the best"....but, it's proven reliable enough from word of mouth to mention as a comparison to more expensive options.

Marlin, then. Good clutch. Orrrr.....Brian at WabFab (aka WaskillyWabbit on the forum). He's a good guy to do business with, and his clutches are genuine Aisin/Seco.

Best clutch I have ever bought. ( I used the semi metalic with 1600ft-lbs of clamping force. I can't stand ceramic clutches!!!

looks like everyone is in favor of the marlin crawler clutches
whats the better for an everyday driver, the heavy duty 1200lb pressure plate or the super heavy duty 1600ib pressure plate?

If you are just driving and need a no frills clutch thats going to get the job done, go find a napa and buy their off the shelf clutch. Its like 110.00. Ive been building these trucks for 5 years now and thats what i started using after buying clutches that didnt operate properly off of ebay. DONT BUY FROM E CLUTCH MASTER off of ebay what ever you do. Or buy a centerforce stage 2 or 3.
