I bought some alcan springs and a high steer kit from a guy on a local board here. Well when I went to put em on the front springs were too short. I took one of the leaves out and it helped but theyre still basically vertical. I ordered a ton of stuff the other day and one of the things I ordered was the dropped front spring hanger. will this help with my angle.

Also the rear springs were not right either. There are too long and the center pin did not line up. The springs according to the guy I got em from were built for an 83 toyota that was gonna be a rock crawler on 37's. In my research there is not that much difference between an 83 and 85 in spring lengths, anybody got any ideas why these springs are so off. I understand that were probably not built to hang from stock locations but the springs being too short on the front I don't understand.

Were the springs made for stock mounts or new moved mounts?

It doesn't take but inches or less difference to screw things up.

I assume they were made for moved mounts but I figured the front springs would be too long as well not too short. I took a leaf out of the front and for a better shackle angle but Im thinking they may be too soft now

I'd be calling the guy you got them from and ask him exactly what they are and party numbers if possible. That would help cross referencing to yours immensely.

The fronts measured I think 49". And when I got the springs from him he said it had been a couple years since he ordered the stuff and there are no part numbers on the springs that I can ee. Either way I got the springs and high steer for less than just the highsteer would have cost me new so I would like to make them work.
