Thumbs up Pro Comp Xtreme Mud Terrain Tires

I bought a set of these back in late 2007. My rear tires have held up really well even though the rubber seems a little soft. The front however was my fault, I didn't have the front tires aligned properly after installing the pro comp 4" lift kit on my 86 Yota P/U, then waited till they were really worn down before finally aligning it properly.

Pro's:
1. Really quiet on the road/highway.
2. They work great through mud and other terrain
3. Very strong/durable, thick sidewall protection and traction
4. Look badass

Con's:
1. Rubber seems a little soft, had slight tears on the lugs (nothing serious)

I love mine on my 96 4runner. They are noisier than my ATs of course, but they are much quieter than the good year MT's I used to have. These tires seem to wear well. They are predictable on pavement and both loose and hardpack gravel and they have worked well in the mud that I have gone through.

Are these quieter than the xterrains? I had 2 different sets of them and once they wore down they were super noisy!

xterrains are fairly quiet, i had a set of 285/75/16s on my 97 4Runner 4x4 and the performed great off road but did not last. directional muds are a no go for me.

I have had a set of these in 35x12.50x15's on my SAS 92 pickup since 2005. They work great for everything, except snow.

They generate noise on the highway, but not as much as other mud terrain tires, but then again, what mud terrain tire doesn't generate noise? These are on the low side when it comes to noise.

On rocks, these work great. It just grips and goes. In mud, these work great. It self-cleans and just keeps digging.

Deflated, the sidewalls doesn't give much. But this could be attributed to the fact that I have a light truck. At 12psi (didn't want to go lower since I don't have bead locks), the sidewalls just bulge out 1/2" at most.

Compared to Pro Comp XTerrain, the Xtremes are second in snow. In the fluffy stuff, it just digs and goes nowhere. In the packed stuff, it just slips with no grip. The XTerrains (My BIL had them on his 85 truck), he just grips and goes in fluffy stuff and in the hard stuff.

i was running the m/t pro comps diffrent from the ones u might be talking about...

heres the link to it
http://www.procompusa.com/prodDetail...0807&plID=3358

i would rate the tires in that link very bad! side walls are very soft and when driving im really muddy conditions there just mud slicks....

I have never personally used the KM2's but I know these are much quieter than the KM1's that I had on my old truck.

I am going on my first real offroad trail ride with this truck this weekend so I will have some pics and some feed back of off road performance..
