Medalist Mud King XT Review

Medalist Mud King XT Review
I got myself a set of Medalist Mud King XT tires in 30x9.5x15 (same tread pattern as the BF Goodrich Mud King XT's). These tires come pre-tapped for studs. I've rode on them for about 300 miles now, so i figured it's time to give my first impression. By no means are these tires new, i got them used, they were very worn. The fronts have about 10% tread left and the rears about 40%. Just something to keep in mind when you're reading this.
My scale works like this,
= Poor for the terrain
= Not great but not horrible for the terrain
= Average for the terrain
= Fairly well for the terrain, good for the weekend warrior
= Exceptional for the terrain, a great choice
I recently got a chance to take these out on a few local (easy) trails by my house. These are the results that I had;
Trail
They performed decently well on the trail although they didn't get great traction on rock and hard packed dirt. They had no problems climbing steep hills. I give them a 3 out of 5.
Mud 1/2
Although I didn't get into much mud with these i did hit a few muddy patches and they seemed to perform decently well. The tread clears itself very well. They don't turn to slicks like some other tires do. I give them a 3.5 out of 5 because there are better mud tires out there.
Rock
I was not overly impressed by the Mud King's rock performance. It is an M/T so i know rock isn't its strong suit. It tended to slip on the rocks, for that it gets a 2 out of 5.
Snow
I really had a good chance to put these bad boys to the test in snow. I took them out today in about 6" of snow. I rarely used 4wd, even up steep hills these tires really outdid themselves. The snow did not pile up in between the tread blocks, these tires can really clean themselves well. I was so excited when i found out how good they performed in the snow. The only time I used 4x4 was when i had to pull a car out of the snow that had slid off the road. I give these a 5 out of 5!
Sand
I haven't had a chance to try these out in the sand, therefore I cannot give a rating.
Street
These tires aren't very tame on the street. They are loud and give off a noticeable vibration. They do have decent wet traction though. The tires I have seem to have even tread wear but I cannot attest to that because i have not owned them long enough to notice wear. I give them a 2 out of 5 for the street, not a tire i'd pick for the street.
Hope this helps someone out! I'll be updating this as i put on some more miles!

They look like a good tire at a good price. As I said in my first post. Swimmerboy put up a nice review, which is nice.
