Greenwater, WA. July 21st 2007

I will make a webpage later to have on my site in my trip report section, and it will contain higher res pics sized at 1200x900.
But I wanted to get all of my pics up quick, and a video I put together with most of the vids and all of the pictures.

Thread also mirrored at the big FJ forum.
http://www.fjcruiserforums.com/forum...st-2007-a.html

Here is a list of those who attended.
I did not get all of the passenger name, sorry, and if I misspelled any of the names, please let me know.
I can update the list here and on my website later.

Corey 2007 FJ Cruiser (that be me, you would never guess by my username would ya )
Amaintaylor 2007 FJ Cruiser
Beaterbop 2007 FJ Cruiser
Bernd 2007 FJ Cruiser
Braincell 2007 FJ Cruiser
Chewey and wife 2007 FJ Cruiser
i2oadi2unnei2 2007 FJ Cruiser
Jeff and Michael ARB reps from ARB USA 2007 FJ Cruiser (with the topo map overlay)
Jim (mytruck) 1984 Toyota Truck
KD7NAC 2007 FJ Cruiser
KD7ZKA 2007 FJ Cruiser
Macleod 2007 FJ Cruiser
Noworries 2007 FJ Cruiser
SteveFJ 2007 FJ Cruiser
Thermalscorpian 2007 FJ Cruiser
Wiebs6 1993 Toyota Truck

Wow, great day and fun!
We got a break form the rainy weather when we met up at the Enumclaw Safeway, and also when we were up on 72.
Jim, Thermal, and myself we left around 1 PM to head back home while the rest headed up by the Naches Trail
We will get filled in more on their adventures when they start reporting to the forums.

We hit rain on the way back home between Enumclaw and Auburn.

The ARB FJ Cruiser showed up today, it is always nice to see it as it has all ARB products on it.
They even had the ARB fridge in the back like I had in mine.

I brought a gob of ice cream bars, and I think most got one it not more than one

We headed up 70 and then to the gravel pit on 72 to play for a bit.
The pit is always interesting.
Although it is not wooded like a trail, the pit offers a chance to get your rig very articulated and some of the small hills in there are a challenge.

After we left the pit we continued up FS 72 to the photo op place we always stop at to line the rigs up and get some pics with Mt. Rainier in the background.
Only thing is, the mountain was hiding from us behind the overcast day.
We did have some sun at time, and it was nice that it was not raining.
Also there was not much dust flying around at all since the ground was wet due to prior rain showers up there.

At the stop there the camping chairs and grub came out.
There were hotdogs, brats, and more.
I cracked open the ARB fridge/freezer as I had brought along 3 cases of ice cream bars.
That was a nice treat for a change, first time I had something like that while on a wheeling trip.
These fridge/freezers are great for day trips like this, even better for overnighters.

After everyone had stuffed themselves, we decided what we were going to do.
We wanted to find Lonesome Lake, but it was already getting a little late for Jim and I (he hit the hay late he told me, and I had been up since about 4 am) so we headed back along with Thermal, while the rest of the gang headed on up by the Naches Trail to either run it or scout it out.

I saw an awful lot of nice vehicles today, and even got some ideas if I go with some aftermarket wheels when I upgrade to some 285x70x17" tires.
It was nice seeing everyone today and meeting some new people who I have conversed with on the forums, and putting names to their faces.
Some I had seen before from previous trips.

A lot more pictures showed up over at the other forum, here is a sample.
These were taken by i2oadi2unnei2 on the Naches trail.

Ohhhh noooooooooo, the Naches is very narrow in places and off cambered.
Very easy to slide into a tree which this FJ did.

You had a great turnout for this run. Very fun pics! I wish I would have been there to partake in the ice cream fiesta

Your FJ could just about be a twin of the ARB FJ.

Thanks Chris.
Even though the sun was not out in full force, the ice cream was very much appreciated.

Ice cream bars forever now when I go on runs.

I believe that Jeff from ARB has done the Naches Trail before, he spotted several through it.

It is a lot of fun up there Frog.
I have been going up there for years and have not seen it all.

Although the Naches Trail is not something I would really want to take my new rig on, but one day I will.

I see most made it through there unscathed due to good driving and good spotting by the crew form ARB headquarters.

I would rather have an older solid axle truck with lockers to negotiate all the off camber stuff in there, and not worry about dents or scrapes.

That turned out to be a great day. I had a lot of fun and even received some free striping on my rig (I was the one in the TRD FJ), I made it through due to the help of several other FJ owners including Jeff from ARB, he helped us all when the times were tough. I was kinda worried about the paint but today I buffed out the worst part by hand and it dissapeared before my eyes. I will have someone else finish the job for me next week so I do not have to do all the labor myself (Yes I like to play and have other people do all the work). I am looking forward to doing that again.

Yes, that is the 40 qt. fridge/freezer.

The ARB rig had one in the back too on the left side.

I am looking into moving mine to the rear seat after I take it out and build a custom platform for it.

Taylor, did anyone get any video on the Naches?
This pic that Wayne took is my new wallpaper at work.

Glad I could contribute

I don't think anybody really had time to think about taking video and the trails were tight enough that the only real photo ops were at the rest stops. I'd wager there were only 4 or 5 rigs with that level of previous experience and without bernd's crew and the ARB guys spotting it would not have been pretty.

Being the rear guard I didn't get to see much. Only during the traffic jams when I could get out and walk up to the problem being worked. The rest of the time it was eating dust Reminds me I've got the check my filters.

But having Steve and I, the two SAR people in the back was probably a good idea.

How far up the trail was this pic taken?
I could dig a trail like this that was 10 miles long that followed the ridgeline and was wide enough like that.

That is even wide enough to camp off of on the side.

That was pretty much the "entrance" or at least what I would consider the entrance. It was the highest elevation point and very close to the turn off of 70. There were a few other places to pull off. In fact the rest stop after problem 1 pic was a huge clearing. Not sure I would want to camp anywhere along there though, too many bikes and quads buzzing around.

No, everyone didn't have a camera...... I am going to blame Mrs Chewey because she also forgot her wallet at home, so I will blame the camera on her as well!!!!!!!

Hey Chewey, like I mentioned above, 'tis my background at work on all of my PCs.

Would it not be cool to have a simpler trail like in the shot that followed the ridgeline for many miles?

I can only imagine that shot with no overcast skies.

Oh, and tell Mrs. Chewey to pack the digicam next time.

We met KD and Amain at the Mitzel's in South Everett for a little breakfast. When we got on the freeway after we ate is when she realized that the camera is in a safe spot...... Too bad that spot was in our house!!!! Next time!!!!
