To Get a Lift or Not? That is the question.

I have been thinking about lifting my 4Runner for a while and I have picked out the one that I want, but I am not sure if I should get it.
I really want to go to a park called Rausch Creek in Pennsylvania. I spoke with one person who said that I must lift my truck to go there. However, the website says that there are trails that can be done with a factory vehicle with even AWD. So, already I'm better than that with low-gear ranging 4WD. Has anyone been to this park and care to comment?
99' 4Runners have a pretty high ground clearance to begin with. My truck is taller than some of the large SUVs today and is said to have an 11" ground clearance. I also want to consider the possibilty of a rollover. Lifting my truck won't do any good if it decreases my approach/departure angle or if I total it taking a sharp turn. My point is that even trucks are useless when their tires are in the air and their roofs on the ground.
The lift I have in mind is a 3" suspension lift. I read somewhere that body lifts are mostly for looks and that taller lifts require more mechanical modifications. But, will only 3" make a difference? I really don't want to go higher at least for now.
So, I need help deciding.
